Perinatal Mental Health
Your mental health is not just about you anymore. Take charge and set yourself on the path to being a confident parent with perinatal therapy- where I’ll be with you through all the stages of this new chapter
You're Ready to Start a Family!
Getting pregnant is the easy part, right? At least that’s what they taught us in health class. Unfortunately, that just isn’t always the case.
Deciding you’re ready to become a parent is an exciting time that comes with some unique challenges. You may find yourself experiencing things that other moms forgot to warn you about, such as
- Fertility struggles
- Pregnancy loss
- Undergoing fertility treatments (medicated cycles, IUI, IVF)
- Relationship difficulties while trying to conceive
On top of all of those variables, it’s common to feel an increase in anxiety and depression during this time. Navigating the decision to start a family is not easy- and you don’t have to do it alone.
Therapy can help you gain the skills and clarity to confidently walk into this next (exciting!) chapter of your life, no matter what challenges may come up along the way.
You're Pregnant!
Pregnancy is beautiful. You should be glowing, and just beaming with happiness, right? Well, maybe not. Sure, pregnancy can be beautiful, but it can also be a lot more not-so-Instagram-worthy things. (and all the emotions that come along with them). During this so called beautiful time, you may be dealing with issues such as…
- Feeling anxious about what’s to come
- Lack of motivation
- Frustration over physical changes to your body
- Isolation
- Fears about the health of your baby
Now that you’re carrying your little one, your mental health isn’t just about you. Therapy can be the first step in making sure that the transition into taking care of two people at once (yourself and your baby) is as smooth as possible!
Your Baby is Here!
Your long-awaited bundle of joy has arrived!
Now your life is all about baby snuggles, happiness, and enjoying all that free time you have while on maternity leave. Unfortunately, this just isn’t always the case. Becoming a parent is so much more than just soaking in the newborn snuggles. You may be experiencing any of the following;
- Managing expectations versus reality
- Postpartum anxiety, depression, or rage
- Balancing multiple demanding roles
- Setting boundaries for yourself and your baby
On top of these common issues, those that are “type A” or high achieving women may notice struggling a bit more during this postpartum phase of life. Control, planning, and organization seems to go out the window when a baby comes and that can be uncomfortable (to say the least)! If this sounds like you- therapy can help you find a balance and get back to being the strong, confident parent that you’re meant to be.

FAQs
For individual and couples therapy (virtual and in person) I take Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and MVP. If you choose not to use your insurance, I charge a rate of $150 per session.
Therapy is not one size fits all, so what I use will be tailored to what you need! My approach is strengths based and person centered. I use parts of approaches such as CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy), IFS (internal family systems), ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), relational, and attachment theory.
Of course! I strive to make therapy as accessible as possible. Life as a new parent is…a lot. Not having childcare shouldn’t prevent you from getting the therapy time you deserve.
Life happens. If you can’t make our scheduled appointment and you know within 24 hours, please reach out to me to cancel.
