In-Person Therapy

Nothing beats a real, face-to-face connection. Almost all of my appointments are done from my office- so my door is always open for you to come join me in person.

I highly encourage coming in person at least once (schedule permitting) even if you plan to do most appointments virtually so that we can make a true human connection and feel that someone “real” is behind the screen.

My office is comfortable and casual- like being at home in your living room. I have a big couch, 2 cozy chairs, blankets, pillows, tables for your drinks, endless snacks, fidget toys galore, coloring books, art supplies, and a big sunny window.

Accessible Therapy

I’m the first to recognize that schedules get BUSY. And, even on your busiest weeks, you still deserve to have an hour to focus on yourself. I strive to make therapy as accessible as possible by offering both weekend and evening hours (though they’re usually the first to fill up).

In addition to “off hours”, I offer virtual therapy, allowing you to meet with me from the comfort of your own home (or office, or car, or… anywhere you’re comfortable with). Even if you typically come to the office to meet in person, virtual is always an option on an “off” day, when the weather is bad, or when your kids are home sick.

My goal is to break down as many barriers as possible to give you the time and space to engage in therapy your way.

Couples Therapy

We’ve all heard it before… relationships take a lot of work.

Contrary to what your friends or family may say, coming to couples counseling is not a death sentence for your relationship. Actually, couples counseling is most effective when used to strengthen an already healthy relationship by learning communication skills, exploring values and goals together, creating and enforcing boundaries, and making sure that tough conversations stay on track (with my help).

  • Both of you are in individual counseling already (or open to beginning it)
  • You’re both willing and excited to engage in therapy together that focuses on your relationship
  • You’re ready to hear your partner talk openly and honestly in front of a professional
  • You want to work through relationship issues together while both of you take accountability for each part you both play in the conflict
  • You’re experiencing difficulties such as: communication differences, decision making, holding boundaries, family dynamics, different values or beliefs,  identifying your role in your relationship, or difficulty with trusting.
  • There is active domestic violence occurring in the relationship
  • Someone gave you an ultimatum to come to counseling
  • You’re not ready to talk (and hear your partner talk) about personal issues within your relationship
  • You have no interest in engaging in your own individual therapy
  • You want to change fundamental parts of your partner’s personality
  • You’re not ready to take accountability and are just looking to show your partner they’re “wrong”

Reaching out for counseling is a sign that you love and care about your partner enough to put in the effort to strengthen your bond. Don’t let the stigma of getting help keep you stuck in unhealthy patterns- reach out today and let’s start this journey together!

FAQs

For individual therapy (virtual and in person) I take Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and MVP. If you choose not to use your insurance, I charge a rate of $150 per session

Therapy is not one size fits all, so what I use will be tailored to what you need! My approach is strengths based and person centered.  I use parts of approaches such as CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy), IFS (internal family systems), ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), relational, and attachment theory.

I do not provide court assessments for things such as custody, divorce, etc. I also do not provide ADHD/ autism assessments but am happy to work with your primary care provider or psychiatrist on these.
